A Doula is a professional support person who assists and supports a mother and her family through the perinatal period from fertility to pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Doulas provide continuous support through means of information, physical support, and emotional support.
Childbirth Educator
A Childbirth Educator is a birth professional who teaches adult classes to expectant folk and their support people as they prepare for the transition into parenthood. Childbirth education covers topics such as fertility, to gestational development, stages of labour and comfort measures. Additionally, students receive instruction on postpartum mental health, newborn care and finding your way to success in your new role as a parent.
